First Russian Demolition Forum in February 2020

Similar to Demtech India 2019 Russia will organize its first demolition forum in 2020.
The forum will take place at Korston Club Hotel in Moscow, Russia, 4-5 February 2020. Initiator to the forum is Artem Kondratev, General Manager of the Russian Demolition Federation. The form will be organized in partnership with EDA (European Demolition Association) and supported by PDi Magazine.

New Demolition Robots in 2019

UK based ES Robotics has recently launched a series of brand new remote controlled demolition robots ranging from 1.5t to 8.5t, said to be the first in the world to have both diesel and electric power. According to the manufacturer, they follow many years of development followed by two years of field testing to get the new robots ready for market. The range consists of four models, DR125, DR300, DR450 and DR850, all marketed under the brand name ‘Akula’.

Brock Rentals Inc. upgrades fleet

Brokk, the manufacturer of remote controlled demolition machines, recently finalised an agreement with Brock Rentals Inc. to upgrade the rental company’s fleet of remote controlled demolition units with 12 next generation models.

The new models feature Brokk’s signature ‘SmartConcept’ technology, which revolutionises power management, design and ergonomics to maximise productivity over previous models. With the new models, Brock Rentals’ fleet now features more than 50 Brokk remote controlled machines ranging from the compact Brokk 60 to the heavy duty Brokk 400.

65 year old silo demolished using Volvo’s new high reach demolition excavator

Älmby Entreprenad is somewhat of a hidden secret in the Swedish demolition industry, but is a significant player, with an annual turnover of around €34M and a fleet of about 30 different excavators. Now its become the first company in Sweden to dismantle an entire 34m silo using Volvo’s new high reach demolition excavator.

Älmby Entreprenad was commissioned by the Torsås municipality to demolish a 34m 65 year old silo. To do this the company used a custom built, 55t high reach Volvo EC380EHR demolition excavator, which levelled the silo in Bergkvara, Sweden, to the ground.
